I put my cat to sleep last night. I will write more about him later, but for now you can read what I wrote about him in 2007 in my yoga blog:
going with the flow
In the picture in this post he looks healthy. When he died he was skin and bones.
Jack was a street cat. Seventeen years ago I saved him from going down a rain sewer when he was a two pound bundle of fur covered with fleas and filled with tapeworms. Please click the "Feed Shelter Animals" widget in my sidebar, and if you are a regular reader, please click it every time you stop by. I do, and Jack thanks you.

I know how you feel. We have a house full of rescued cats. Your heart is kind.
ReplyDeletePeace.
It sucks to lose a longtime companion. I still miss my German Shepherd, gone from me now for 16 years.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I'm so sorry. You gave him a long, wonderful, and happy life.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to learn about Jake's passing. You did a good thing by rescuing him.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, L. I'm not sure I will have the strength to be there for 9 yr. old Milo (of course I will) when his time comes. It must be so hard to see that spark fade from your sweet catso's eyes. But he was lucky to have you there and it sounds like he got a few extra lives in thanks to you (before heading to his next assignment). Take it easy. I hope the other felines aren't too upset by his absence...
